About Little Forest Martial Arts

Why “Little Forest”?

The name Little Forest is a nod to the origins of Kung Fu. The name “Shaolin,” the legendary birthplace of many martial arts, means “Little Forest” in Chinese. It’s where tradition, focus, and inner strength were first planted and allowed to grow.

At Little Forest Martial Arts, we carry that spirit forward. While our foundation is in traditional Kung Fu, our program blends the most practical and effective techniques from a variety of disciplines—including Tai Chi, Meditation, Hapkido, and more. At Little Forest, we present these arts in a way that resonates with modern learners—whether it’s a young child learning focus and coordination, a teen building confidence, or an adult seeking balance and resilience. The result is a well-rounded approach that helps students build real self-defense skills while also developing confidence, focus, and discipline.

Whether your child is just starting out, you’re exploring martial arts for the first time, or you’re looking for focused individual instruction, Little Forest is a place to grow—inside and out.

Our Philosophy

Martial arts isn’t just about physical skill—it’s about cultivating character. It is a place to for all ages and abilities to grow, thrive, and connect.

Featured Instructor

Master Fu has dedicated decades to the study and practice of martial arts and movement, including Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, meditation, Kenjutsu, and Parkour.

His journey began as a teenager with traditional Kung Fu and Tai Chi, eventually expanding into deeper training in mindfulness, meditation, and internal strength. Encouraged by his teacher, he began sharing what he learned through teaching, and has been guiding students ever since.

Master Fu believes martial arts are not just about self-defense—they’re a path to personal growth, focus, and resilience. His teaching blends tradition with practicality, helping students of all ages build both skill and confidence.

He’s serious about the art—but keeps things grounded, fun, and welcoming. (Oh, and he also really likes tacos!)
